Lesson Notes:

Words spoken by others are powerful, but it isn’t until we speak in response that those words become real or of no effect to us. As Christians we are ‘new creatures’ and no longer posses the right to blame our current actions on our past. Words have the tremendous potential to harm others.

Just as negative words have the ability to wound, our positive words have even greater potential to create order out of chaos. The Word of God is living, powerful and sharper than any two-eged sword. (Heb 4)

We must speak what is in our hearts to God, be real, edify one another. Col 3:15-17 says: “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
