Faith: Part 3 Stewardship [Sunday School Oct 4th]

Listen to the audio at the bottom of this post.

Is God your source or just a resource? How do we live a life where God is our source?

The essence of having God as your source is seeing your life as not your own, but Gods.  We are to be stewards of ALL God has given us.

If you don’t believe that we are stewards of what God has given us, then tithing is just a bill and serving God is community service.  We must be of the mindset that everything I posses (physically, monetary, health, time) has been given by God.  If we believe this, then we need to have faith and be stewards of what he’s given.

Mal 3:8-12
We rob God by not tithing and giving in an offering.

Not only are we blessed for our obedience in giving, but God may bring us to a place of need if we don’t give.  ”I can’t afford to give”. Fact is that we really can’t afford NOT to give.

Matt 6:19-20
Where your treasure is, that where your heart is. One can usually tell just by looking where a persons treasure is.

Giving is not a lottery where you give only to receive. Giving is a lifestyle.

Seek ye first the kingdom, and all these things will be added.

Faith, Hope & Love Part 2 [Sunday School Sept 27th]

Listen to the audio at the bottom of this post.

1 John 5:4
The enemy wants to attack our faith. It’s not how good our lives are that causes us to be an overcomer. Our faith is what makes us overcome. He does not abuse his power/authority.

Just because our lives are imperfect does not mean God is against us. God is for us regardless of our current situation!

Isa 55:6-8
We have to have the mind of God to know what he thinks about or situations. When we know what God thinks about us our faith can remain strong.

prov 23:7
As we think in our heart, so are we.  If  we don’t have the thoughts of God, we can NOT be filled with faith. The way we think will determine if we’re filled with faith or not. We must strive to all be filled with faith. Because the faithful and faithless are like oil and water.

As a church, fellowship can not be our primary focus. Fellowship must be a byproduct of our common faith.

The body of Christ is about having fellowship one with another BECAUSE we have a vibrant life in Jesus Christ.

As with physical weight loss, the only way to increase our faith and grow in God can be found in discepline and self-control.

1 Pet 1;5
Why do we give more time to the temporary than the eternal?  We need to be diligent in our pursuit of and our treasure in heaven.

Eph 3:14-21

2 Cor 10:1-5
It’s our choice what we let in our minds. We have to exercise our minds and thoughts to keep our faith strong.

Faith, Hope & Love Part 1 [Sunday School Sept 20th]

Listen to the audio at the bottom of this post.

NOTE: There were mic issues the first 4 min so the audio abruptly begins at that point.

We must have THE unity of the spirit, not just unity.

Faith is always about tomorrow.

As a church we ought never to measure success by earthly standards. Being successful in God’s eyes is simply fulfilling His purpose and following His voice.

1 Peter 1:4-9
We have an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled and does not fade away. Our genuine faith is more valueable than gold and will be equal to praise, honor and glory in the end. Faith had a shelf-life. The end of faith will be the salvation of our soul.

1 Jn 5:4
Our faith is the ‘tool’ that will allow us to overcome the world.

Out trials/valleys are Gods way of testing how we’ll react to God working through us (to His glory)
