Encouragement [Sunday School Nov 1st]

The world we live in does not bring us rest.

1 Cor 8:1 We need to live in a place where we edify one another. Always looking outwardly is not the will of God. People need to be able to come into a healthy body.

1 Cor 13:13 The greatest of these is love because where there is love, faith and hope will naturally follow.

Acts 4:36 The Apostles names Joses Barnabas which translated means ’son of encouragement’. The strength of the body of Christ is dependent upon our ability to edify and encourage each other.

If you’re not encouraged, how can you encourage? We need to surround ourselves with those who are ‘others’ oriented. Don’t just pay lip service: edify, encourage and engage!  Discouragement is as contagious as H1N1 (swine flu).

Eph 6:13 God is not looking for superheros, he’s looking for people who can stand and will keep standing.

You can learn the mechanics of praise and have no power. Only faith will bring a move of God.
